art and nature summer camp on bear mountain. monday, july 25th - friday, july 29th. 1-4pm
Young artists will spend the week inspired by the world around us. Using sketchbooks while hiking on nearby trails, they will compose acrylic paintings in studio just like Emily Carr did in this area decades ago. Young artists will create plein air watercolour paintings on a second day hike and produce botanical prints using collected material from the park next to the studio. Large scale pastel drawings inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe, mixed-media fold out nature books and clay potted strawberries are just a few of the many works of art young artists will create influenced by the beauty of the world we live within. Limited to six campers. Hikes are contingent on weather.
Creating art can be messy, please dress children appropriately. An allergy-free snack and water in a no spill container may be brought from home.
