Art retreat is an opportunity for tweens and teens to explore a wide variety of artists and art techniques in a relaxed hour together. Projects may extend over multiple classes in order to give students the opportunity to create rich and interesting pieces. Some of the projects artists will create are woodland watercolours, photo montages, coin paintings, acrylic painted halloween posters, sugar skull sculptures, graphite and colour pencil drawings.

  • sketching paper

  • bookpage
  • air dry clay
  • acrylic paint (primary colours, white and black)
  • watercolour paint
  • drawing pencils
  • pencil crayons
  • black sharpie pen (ultra fine and fine tip)
  • eraser
  • 2 magazines, (one students feel is aimed at men and one aimed at women)
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • paintbrushes (one very fine for painting on a coin)
  • container for water
  • paper towel/rag
