This project is inspired by Andy Warhol's early drawing technique that incorporates a basic printing process called blotted line. Blotted line enabled Warhol to create a variety of illustrations along a similar theme. He used this technique in his commercial work in NYC throughout the 50s because it allowed him to bring multiple ideas to clients to increase the odds that one of his drawings would be chosen for the final advertisement.
In this virtual class, artists will create a simple floral drawing. Then using the same technique Warhol used in the 50s create a series of prints using pen and ink. Once finished, we will add watercolour to the works.
