In this four week virtual class, tweens and teens will discover four self taught female artists, known as outsider artists, from North America. We will create acrylic animal portraits inspired by Maud Lewis, collaged ink drawings inspired by Karine Labrie, create new personas through modified self portrait photos inspired by Lee Godie and create line drawings washed with watercolours (and possibly glitter if allowed at home) by Lady Shalimar. Young artists will discover new ways to create art along with lessons on following passions, the human spirit and overcoming obstacles while learning about these talented female artists who create against all odds. (artwork shown created by Karine Labrie)
